Plan and manage the social media strategy for the N&O newsroom, and manage the main audience analytics platforms. Develop best practices for social media and for audience analytics; coach and train staff; refine policies and guidelines as the media and analytics tools change; learn and test new trends, tools and techniques on the established platforms; and analyze social media and readership metrics to enhance practices. Develop and execute strategies that increase our social media following; work closely with the news staff on developing the best ways to interact with readers and the community; work with editors to train staff in the best ways to use social media to gather and present the news. Work with other departments to conceive and execute community outreach initiatives and to build our audience. 

 

Four-year degree in journalism, communication, marketing or related field, and experience in social media management required. Experience in web analytics preferred.
